Why yes it can! We have been working with our original Chocolate/Vanilla recipe to make it healthier without compromising the taste you love! The traditional chocolate has always contained non trans fat vegetable shortening in the cake and the cream. Every now and then it doesn't bother me to have it in our diet. But as a responsible baker I wanted to do my part in making it healthier for my family and customers! First I began with our chocolate cakes. These are used for Chocolate, Hazelnut and Coconut Whoopie Pies. We have successfully removed the shortening completely and replaced it with real butter. It's not as easy as you might think but we've got it down and we think you'll like them even better!
Secondly we now offer another option for the Chocolate Whoopie. The new filling in this Whoopie is made with Expeller Pressed Coconut Oil! Tropical Traditions Organic Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil is made from certified organic coconuts that have NOT been treated with chemicals or fertilizers. It is certified organic according to European and USDA standards. Our Organic Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil is high in the medium chain fatty acids, such as Lauric acid. Organic Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil goes through a steam deodorizing process the taste is very bland, unlike Virgin Coconut Oil which retains the odor and taste of fresh coconuts. Some people prefer a bland, tasteless oil. So you get the health benefits of coconut oil without the taste! It is a true Vanilla Cream filling!
